Full job description

Yoga Instructor

Cedar Rock Wellness is seeking a passionate and dedicated Yoga Instructor to join our multidisciplinary wellness team in Squamish, BC.

The ideal candidate will lead engaging, mindful and inclusive yoga classes that support individuals of varying skill levels, abilities and movement backgrounds. We are looking for an instructor who can create a welcoming environment, provide thoughtful adaptations and inspire clients to build strength, flexibility, confidence and connection through movement.

This is an opportunity to build regular small-group classes within a locally owned health and wellness clinic, with the potential to develop specialty classes, workshops and community events.

Responsibilities

Lead engaging and safe small-group yoga classes tailored to different skill levels and needs
Develop thoughtful class sequences that promote flexibility, strength, mobility and relaxation
Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to support proper technique and safety
Offer appropriate modifications for clients with injuries, limitations or specific movement needs
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages mindfulness and personal growth
Communicate with clients regarding questions, concerns and wellness goals
Collaborate with Cedar Rock Wellness clinicians and other wellness professionals
Promote upcoming classes, workshops and community events
Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming studio space before and after classes
Begin and end classes punctually and reliably

Qualifications and Skills

Recognized yoga instructor certification
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Previous group instruction experience
Knowledge of yoga styles, techniques and safety principles
Strong teaching and leadership skills
Ability to motivate and support clients of varying experience levels
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt classes based on individual needs and group dynamics
Strong time management and organizational skills
Professional, dependable and community-minded
Experience working with beginners, older adults or individuals returning to activity is an asset
Fluency in English is required; bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in French, are encouraged to apply
Evening and/or weekend availability is preferred

About Cedar Rock Wellness

Cedar Rock Wellness is a locally owned multidisciplinary health and wellness clinic in Squamish. Our team provides rehabilitation, movement and wellness services within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Our class sizes are intentionally kept small, allowing instructors to provide more individualized guidance and create meaningful connections with clients.

Position Details

This is an independent contractor opportunity. Compensation will be based on class attendance, experience and the agreed contractor structure.

There may also be opportunities to offer workshops, specialty programs and community wellness events.
