Experienced Welder / Fabricator – Architectural Metalwork

Iron Elements is a custom architectural metal fabrication company specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects throughout Alberta. We design, fabricate, and install one-of-a-kind steel and glass features including custom railings, floating stair systems, steel doors, wine rooms, feature walls, fireplace surrounds, shelving, and other bespoke architectural metalwork.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and takes pride in producing clean, accurate work from start to finish.

This role involves interpreting shop drawings, fabricating architectural steel components, welding to a high cosmetic standard, and assisting with installation when required.

Responsibilities

Fabricate custom architectural steel projects from shop drawings
MIG and TIG weld mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Fit, fabricate, and assemble components with precision
Grind and finish welds to architectural-quality standards
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
Operate fabrication equipment including:
Bandsaw
Cold saw
Drill press
Hand tools
Assist with installation of fabricated products on-site
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Work independently while collaborating effectively with the fabrication team
Identify fabrication challenges and contribute practical solutions

QualificationsRequired

Minimum 5 years welding and fabrication experience
Strong MIG welding experience
Ability to read fabrication drawings
Experience fitting and fabricating custom steel assemblies
Excellent attention to detail
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Valid driver’s license
Able to lift 50 lbs

Preferred

TIG welding experience
Stainless steel fabrication experience
Aluminum fabrication experience
Architectural metal fabrication experience
Installation experience
Forklift certification (asset)
