BGC Niagara is seeking a candidate to fill the position of the Child and Youth Program Supervisor located at 2 Facer Street, St. Catharines, L2M 5G9.
Employment type: Full Time Hourly, 35-44 hours per week. This position has regularly scheduled split shifts from 6:00am-10:00am and 2:00pm-6:00pm during instructional school days, with straight shifts on non instructional PD Days and Camps at one of the assigned main Centre locations.
- Compensation range: $25.50-$27.50 per hour
- On top of the base wage, the Child and Youth Program Supervisor will receive Wage Enhancement of $2.00 per hour.

Qualifications needed for Employment
- College and/or University Diploma/Degree in: Early Childhood Education/or; Child and Youth Worker Diploma/or; Recreation and Leisure/or; Ontario Teacher’s College Diploma/or; Other acceptable post secondary equivalents for childcare settings Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators or Ontario Teacher College if applicable diploma - At time of hire – Proof of membership in good standing
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance - Must have at time of hire or proof of purchase with receipt
- Immunizations Records - At time of hire
- Standard First Aid/CPR C - Must be valid at time of hire
- Food Handlers - Can obtain during employment
- Drivers Licences - At time of hire
- Directors Approval - Can obtain once hired- successful Director’s Approval required to hold License of Child Care Center.
- High Five - Can obtain during employment
- At least three years experience in Licensed Childcare Programming - Supervisory experience an asset
The Child and Youth Supervisor is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of licensed childcare programs at the assigned location. The Child and Youth Supervisor is responsible for the care of the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara property and assets as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliverables include but are not exclusive to:
- Supervision of Licensed Childcare programs in accordance with MEDU guidelines and CCEYA regulations;
- Records are available and filed confidentially as required.
- Qualified and competent employees are trained and supervised;
- Revenue, expenses, purchase orders, invoices are processed and monitored weekly;
- Programs and services are diverse and offered in accordance with project plans
- Course outlines and lesson plans are available for all programs and services;
- Staff are scheduled effectively and efficiently;
- Attendance and participation data reports are submitted monthly;
- Program opening and closing checklists are completed and documented;
- Program space and equipment are clean and in good repair;
- Fire and Emergency Response duties are completed and documented.
