This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or experienced surveyor to gain hand on experience on a large range of surveying projects. Qualifications:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Back ground experience in construction and or geography. Survey specialization in Land surveying.
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Good communication and teamwork skills. Valid G driver’s license. Certified in First Aid and Working at Heights.
Work site environment:
Outdoors, exposed to weather and extreme temperatures.
Work setting:
Various locations in Ontario
Tasks:
Assist Party Chief daily in the field with all aspects of the job.
- Assist with setting out, as-built surveys, and site measurements
- Operate survey equipment including total stations, GPS, and levels
- Collect, process, and manage survey data
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure accuracy and calibration
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times
Physical Demands:
Handling of material, walking distances while carrying equipment. Ability to use a sledge hammer.
