New Moon Therapy is growing, and I’m looking for a compassionate, thoughtful Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (RPQ) to join the practice as a part-time independent contractor.
New Moon Therapy is a trauma-informed, relational, and inclusive private practice that supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, life transitions, divorce, neurodivergence, and the many experiences that can leave us feeling stuck or disconnected from ourselves.
I’m looking for someone who values genuine therapeutic relationships, curiosity, compassion, and creating a space where clients can feel safe enough to be themselves.
About the role
This is an independent contractor position with flexibility to develop a caseload that fits your availability and professional interests.
The position may include:
- Individual psychotherapy with young adults and adults
- In-person sessions from the New Moon Therapy office in Welland
- Virtual psychotherapy with clients across Ontario
- Potential for walk-and-talk therapy, where appropriate
- Collaborating with the practice while maintaining your clinical autonomy
- Maintaining timely and appropriate clinical documentation
- Managing your own clinical schedule and availability
There is no expectation to take on a full-time caseload. However, full-time may be a possibility in the future.
Compensation
New Moon Therapy offers a competitive split.
The intention is to recognize therapists who build a sustainable, ongoing relationship with the practice; therefore, the fee split will be negotiated at the end of year one.

What you bring
You are:
- An RP or RP (Qualifying) registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
- In good standing with your regulatory college
- Covered by appropriate professional liability insurance
- Comfortable working independently within a private-practice setting
- Some evening and weekend availability is an asset
- Committed to trauma-informed, ethical, client-centred care
- Relational in your approach and interested in understanding the person within the context of their relationships and experiences with self and others
- Inclusive and affirming toward clients from diverse backgrounds and identities
- Reliable, communicative, and organized
- MUST be available for in-person sessions
Additional training or experience in areas such as trauma, attachment, IFS, EFT, somatic approaches, couples therapy, neurodivergence, LGBTQ2S+ affirmative therapy, or other relational approaches would be an asset.

Hours
Part-time, with flexibility around scheduling.
The ideal candidate would be able to offer a consistent number of weekly appointment times, with some availability during evenings or other high-demand times considered an asset.
