Full job description

Hickman Automotive Group is looking for an Medium Duty Truck Technician to join our team at Hickman Truck Centre in St. John's. If you are an energetic and motivated individual with a positive attitude, a dedication to providing exceptional customer service and a desire to succeed, we would love to have you.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnostics and Repair: Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension and electrical systems.
Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups.
Warranty and Compliance: perform warranty repairs in accordance with factory standards and ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental regulations.
Documentation: Accurately document all work performed on repair orders using dealer management software.

Qualifications

Enrollment in Automotive Apprenticeship Program is considered an asset.
Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking Skills: must be able to analyze symptoms to find the root cause of mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
Communication Skills: Explaining complex technical repairs and coordinating effectively with service advisors and parts personnel.
Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in inspections and documentation to ensure safety and maintain accurate service records for warranty compliance.
Adaptability and Active Learning: A commitment to continuous training to keep up with rapidly evolving truck technology and new manufacturer standards.
