Position Summary

Kathron Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment on a variety of construction projects while contributing to a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and rollers.
Perform excavation, grading, trenching, site preparation, and material handling activities.
Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and project specifications.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance requirements.
Complete routine equipment servicing and preventative maintenance.
Work closely with supervisors, truck drivers, labourers, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
Maintain safe work practices and comply with company safety policies and regulations.
Assist with site setup, cleanup, and other construction activities as required.
Ensure projects are completed efficiently while meeting quality standards.

Skills

Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment is preferred but not required.
Ability to operate multiple types of equipment safely and efficiently.
Class 3E Driver’s Licence preferred.
Knowledge of grading, excavation, and site development practices.
Understanding of construction safety requirements and procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
