Job Overview

Join our team as a Dietary Aide Student, where you will play a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs and well-being of residents in our nursing home. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity for students interested in food service, healthcare, or hospitality industries. You will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and sanitation while providing friendly customer service to residents and staff. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a warm, welcoming environment that promotes health and happiness for those we serve.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food service operations, ensuring timely delivery of nutritious meals to residents or patients
Follow food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
Serve meals with courtesy and professionalism, attending to residents’ or patients’ needs
Support food handling procedures, including proper storage, portioning, and labeling of ingredients
Help with cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas to uphold sanitation standards
Manage time effectively to ensure all meal services are completed efficiently and on schedule
Collaborate with kitchen staff and caregivers to ensure dietary requirements are met accurately
Hours are typically 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. Our operation for food services is seven days a week.

Experience

Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, or food service roles is advantageous
Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude toward residents or patients
Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience in cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards in kitchen settings is a plus
