Payroll Clerk

Penn-co Construction is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our Payroll team at our Steinbach office.

As a leader in the construction industry, Penn-co equips our team of skilled professionals with the vision, guidance, and tools they need to bring construction projects to life. We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accurate, timely work.

Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and unionized employees.
Enter and maintain accurate employee payroll information, including new hires, terminations, transfers, rate changes, classifications, and other employment status changes.
Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and related documentation.
Assist with payroll remittances and reporting, including government, union, benefit, pension, and other third-party remittances.
Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of T4s and other year-end reporting.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries and assist with resolving discrepancies as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years of payroll experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
