Job Posting – Long Haul Truck Driver (NOC 73300)

Job Details

Employer: Big Freight Systems Inc.

Location: 360 Hwy 12 N, Steinbach, MB R5G 1A6

Work location: On the road (various locations)

Salary: $25.10 hourly / 40 hours per week

Drivers may also be eligible for mileage-based compensation and other incentives in accordance with Big Freight Systems' compensation policies.

Employment type: Permanent, Full-time

Schedule: Early morning, Evening, Shift, Morning, Night, Day, Weekend, Overtime available

Start date: As soon as possible

Overview

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Work setting: Remote location, Various locations, Relocation costs not covered by employer

Responsibilities

· Address customers' complaints or concerns

· Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques

· Professionalism in customer service

· Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

· Load and unload goods

· Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes

· Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

· Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

· Perform pre-trip, enroute and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

· Perform preventive maintenance

· Receive and relay information to central dispatch

· Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

· Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Credentials

· AZ class license

· Air Brakes Endorsement

· Class 1/1F/A Licence

· Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

· Driver's License (Class 1 or A)

Experience and Specialization

Documentation knowledge:

Accident or incident reports

Bill of lading

Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Driver logbook

Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Maintenance and repair reports

Trans-border documentation

Trip reports

Type of trucking and equipment:

· Extended length tractor-trailer combination

· Flatbed

· Tractor-trailer

· Tractor-trailer B train

Additional Information

Security and safety: Valid passport, Basic security clearance, Bondable, Criminal record check, Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test, medical exam.

Transportation: Drive manual transmission vehicle, willing to travel cross-border, internationally, overnight and for extended periods.

Physical requirements: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, sitting, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
