Summary

We are seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at Courtyard by Marriott. Located in Canada, this role is vital in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests through high-quality meal preparation and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking
Cook food in various equipment according to standards
Check food while cooking to stir or turn
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Check quality of ingredients and dishes
Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy
Prepares foods to the specifications of the client
Prepares food before the arrival of guests
Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
Seasons food according to recipes or guest needs
Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on client preference
Assists other cooks during the food assembly
Meets with customers to ensure a great meal experience
Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
Cleans up after business hours
Alters dishes based on consumer suggestions or requirements
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to food safety regulations.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
Ordering and inventory
Act as shift supervisor
Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar role within the food service industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork in the kitchen.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
