Journeyman Carpenter – Commercial Construction
Location: Prince Edward Island

Reports To: Foreman/Superintendent
Wilmac Construction is looking for experienced Journeyman Carpenters to join our growing commercial construction team across Prince Edward Island.
We work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects including fit-ups, renovations, multi-story developments, and agricultural buildings. We are looking for motivated carpenters who take pride in quality workmanship, work well within a team, and want to build a long-term career with a growing company.
Red Seal certification is preferred, however equivalent experience will absolutely be considered. Applicants without Red Seal certification may qualify for journeyman wages if they can demonstrate equivalent carpentry experience (10,800+ hours).

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures in commercial buildings
- Work with wood, steel, drywall, concrete, and other building materials
- Install doors, hardware, ceilings, cabinetry, and other commercial finishes
- Assist with framing, drywall, formwork, and general carpentry duties
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain safe and organized work areas
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, project managers, subcontractors, and other trades
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of carpentry experience in commercial construction
- Red Seal Carpenter certification preferred OR equivalent experience considered
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, and tools
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety-focused
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license preferred

- Commercial framing and finishing
- Metal stud framing and drywall
- Concrete formwork
- Commercial renovations and fit-ups
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Typical schedule is Monday to Friday
- Approximately 44 hours per week
- Home every night – all projects located within PEI
