Junior Engineer/Technologist – Building Science

Qualifications and Requirements:

- – Degree or Diploma from a minimum 2 year Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology Program or equivalent education.
  - – The graduate is to be eligible for designation as an EIT with EGBC, or AScT or CET with ASTTBC.
- – Knowledge of building science principles.
- – Understanding of building construction methods, materials and systems.
- – Excellent organizational skills.
- – Perseverant with desire to learn.
- – Clear and effective English communication skills.
- – Able to work individually and in a team setting.
- – Valid driver’s license and access to a car.

Skills and Responsibilities:

- – Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting and skills in construction software, 3D modeling, thermal analysis, and rendering or other graphic presentation software skills are an asset.
- – Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications.
- – Provide support to project manager in various capacity and various tasks including condition assessments, reserve fund studies, new and rehabilitation projects, maintenance and warranty reviews, contract administration and field reviews.
- – Provide support to project staff on project-related or administrative responsibilities when needed.
- – Prepare quantity takeoffs and budget estimates
- – Research in industry standards for costs and construction methods and materials specifications analysis

Salary range: $55,000 – $75,000
