Job Summary

We are looking for skilled and motivated Mobile Trailer Mechanics with an entrepreneurial mindset to join us as Independent Contractors. This role is ideal for experienced professionals in the trailer repair and maintenance industry who already own and operate their own business. Successful candidates will have the necessary documentation to verify business ownership, insurance coverage, and compliance with relevant regulations. If you thrive in an independent, fast-paced environment, have a passion for the trailer industry, and want to bring your expertise and problem-solving skills to customers throughout the Delta, BC we’d love to hear from you.

Available Shift: Monday to Friday - 11am to 7pm

Key Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical systems; landing gear assemblies and trailer frames; hitching/coupling systems; trailer bodies; suspensions systems; tires, wheels, hubs, and axles; air and auxiliary systems; braking systems; heating and refrigeration systems as well as ventilation devices and hydraulic systems
Use hand tools and various specialized diagnostic equipment to diagnose, isolate and repair faults
Review work orders and execute on those assigned to you
Follow defined work order process and procedures, ensuring detailed, accurate and timely completion of all records daily.
Perform scheduled maintenance service and test repaired systems
Read and interpret owner/operator/manufacturer operating manuals and service specifications
Explain mechanical issues in a clear and concise manner.
Provide estimates for repairs and services as required by clients
Follow all safety protocols when working on trailers
Keep up to date on technology and upgrade skills as required
Ensure any parts used are charged accurately to the repair order and participate in regular physical counts of all materials in possession

Job Requirements

Licensed Truck-Trailer Service Technician preferred, or Truck and Coach Technician with all required skills and certifications to the trade
Comfortable using technology, taking before and after picture of repairs, and using the new DriveOn electronic system for safety process.
Welding, fabricating, electrical, mechanical and reefer experience an asset
Must be able to provide registered company name & HST number, along with proof of vehicle, liability, and WSIB insurance, in addition to owning own truck and tools
Organized and self-motivated worker with great attention to detail
A clean drivers abstract
Ability to lift heavy parts up to 50 lbs on occasion
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, training documents and complete repair procedures in accordance with Ministry of Transportation repair requirements
Ability to apply common sense to understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
