Position Purpose and Summary
The Associate Dean of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS@TWU) serves as a key member of the leadership team, partnering with the Dean and colleagues to provide strategic direction and operational leadership for the departments and disciplines within TEDS@TWU, while fostering collaborative partnerships across the University. In support of the Dean, the Associate Dean is typically responsible for advancing the Faculty’s programs and initiatives, providing recommendations on faculty- related matters, and carrying out additional duties as assigned.
Key Areas of Accountability

Supports collaborative long-term planning to ensure alignment with TEDS@TWU and university objectives.

Oversees and supports program and curriculum excellence through development, review, and revision processes.

Fosters and promotes a culture of collegiality and works toward a systemic change.

Supports onboarding and orientation for new faculty.

Participates in the annual evaluation of the faculty.

Supports student recruitment, monitors student progression and completion, and encourages alumni engagement.

Enhances student engagement and promotes a high-quality educational experience.

Oversees day to day operations in collaboration with the TEDS@TWU Program Manager

Assists the Dean in preparing and managing operating, capital, salary and revenue budgets.

Represents the Faculty on internal and external committees and boards as required.

Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external partners.

Supports the development and implementation of learning outcomes across the academic unit.

Maintains high standards of service and performance through active participation in assigned duties, educational seminars, and training programs,

Contributes to and promotes a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment by adhering to University policies and procedures and completing the mandatory training.

Performs additional duties and oversight as delegated by the Dean.

Demonstrates academic expertise in an area encompassed by TEDS@TWU by teaching a prescribed number of courses as determined by the Dean and approved by the Provost.
Job Standards and Requirements
-
A doctorate or terminal degree in a theological discipline.
-
At leave five years of teaching experience in a post-secondary environment, including demonstrated committee work and leadership experience.

Experience working in a teaching-intensive post-secondary institution is an asset.

Demonstrated evidence of definite progress in the scholarly integration of one’s discipline with historic orthodox Christianity;
-
Proven commitment to the principles of servant and transformational leadership;

Ability to develop effective working relationships that facilitate collaboration, trustworthiness, and integrity;

Cultural competence, including demonstrated skills in creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace;

Effective organizational skills;

Ability to exercise business acumen and effective stewardship of resources and budgets;

Superior written and oral communication skills;

Strong problem-solving capacity and exercise of good judgement;

Knowledge of relevant expectations set by provincial/national and international organizations and accreditation authorities, including the Association of Theological Schools;
