Grover Driving Academy is an eco-friendly, modern driving school operating a premium fleet. We are looking for dedicated, patient, and student-focused Driving Instructors to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will teach new drivers to operate a vehicle safely and confidently, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and care. This role involves delivering clear instruction, creating a supportive learning environment, and helping students progress toward their ICBC road test goals.
You will play a vital role in shaping responsible drivers across the Lower Mainland.
- Locations We Are Hiring For:
We are actively looking for instructors who can work in one or more of the following cities:
- Vancouver
- Burnaby
- Surrey
- Richmond
- Port Coquitlam
- North Vancouver
- Compensation & Contract Details:
- Contract-based position with flexible scheduling
- Competitive pay starting at $30/hr, with opportunities to earn up to $45/hr
- Vehicle ownership is an asset, but not required (we can discuss options)

- Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person driving lessons tailored to each student’s skill level, learning pace, and confidence
- Develop customized lesson plans covering essential driving skills, defensive driving, and safety procedures
- Prepare students for ICBC knowledge and road tests by reviewing laws, techniques, and exam expectations
- Assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and deliver constructive, confidence-building feedback
- Maintain accurate records of lessons, completed skills, and student evaluations
- Ensure all instruction follows local traffic laws, safety regulations, and ICBC driver training standards
- Foster a positive, patient, and encouraging learning environment for students of all backgrounds
- Stay current with updates to BC traffic laws, ICBC requirements, and best practices in driver education
- Represent Grover Driving Academy professionally in all interactions with students and families
- Requirements:
- Valid BC Driving Instructor License– Or willingness to obtain one (training guidance provided)
- A valid BC driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Excellent verbal communication skills to clearly explain concepts and safety procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with teens, adults, and newcomers
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring is an asset
- Ability to stay patient, calm, and supportive, especially with nervous learners
- Must pass background checks as required by provincial regulations
- Commitment to promoting safe, responsible, and eco-friendly driving habits
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
