Our Junior Kindergarten programs have expanded...and now we are looking for a Lead Teacher who wants to lead a Reggio-inspired junior kindergarten program.

We’re Hiring:
SSOCC is searching for 1 full time, "4 days a week" ECE to lead our Junior Kindergarten program.

For this role, we are seeking an ECE with proven experience working independently and without direct supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience and passion for atelier-based work. Experience working with an elementary school setting is an asset. You must be familiar with the BCELF and comfortable documenting children’s work while working in ratio. This position is ideal for candidates who take initiative, are highly organized and enjoy building close, positive relationships with families. The candidate must have experience being on-license in a licensed BC child care facility and strong understanding of the BC Child Care regulations.

More about us:
SSOCC is a fair-pay employer, and our total compensation for this position is: 31.50 - 32.00 per hour, including WE, based on experience.

Program hours are 8:00 - 4:30, Monday - Friday, each teacher gets a flex day. Work shifts will fall between these hours and you must be available to be scheduled during any program hours. Work will be 4 days a week; additional shifts available as sub shifts.

We offer medical, dental, paid sick leave, 4 weeks paid vacation (taken 2 weeks at winter break and 2 weeks at spring break during daycare closure periods), 4 paid professional days. Our parents believe in the value of high-quality educators, and are willing to support our team in any way that they can - creating a truly unique work place.

Who are we?
We are a not-for-profit child care society that runs licensed Reggio inspired child care programs. We value outdoor learning, and we are outside every day, for 2-4 hours (at least), in all weather. No exceptions! (Disclaimer: actually, the only exception in the past few years has been air hazard advisory days, due to smoke and low air quality. Climate change really does impact everything - even child care.)
