Full job description

SUMMARY:

One Care Home & Community Support Services is a respected nonprofit community agency, providing quality in-home and community services. We are seeking an Adult Day Program-Program Assistant who, under the direction of the Community Support Services Supervisor, will be responsible for service delivery in the Adult Day Program setting including implementing program activities and direct client care. This role requires a willingness to assist with Overnight Respite and On Call.

This role is eligible for the $3 per hour top-up.

We are seeking a Part Time 12 month Contract staff for our Grand Bend and South Huron Location. Grand Bend Wednesday and Friday 9:30 - 3:30 & South Huron Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 - 3:30.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in planning and implementing a variety of therapeutic, social and recreational activities for clients.
Assists clients in performing activities of daily living including bathing and toileting.
Maintains accurate and confidential client records.
Works cooperatively and communicates effectively with team members including staff, volunteers and caregivers.
Ensures the rights and privacy of clients, volunteers and staff are maintained.
Housekeeping duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma or certificate in recreation, activation, gerontology, or personal support worker but will consider equivalent education and experience working with seniors.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including ability to facilitate group activities
Physically capable of performing assigned duties including assisting with client transfers.
Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
Gentle Persuasive Approach , uFirst , Montessori or Dementiability and safe food handling would be considered an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
Ability to speak French would be considered an asset.
Valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
