Job duties:
Suggest a hairstyle compatible with client's physical features or determine style from client's
instructions and preferences.
Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
Apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair.
Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for
scalp and hair.
Shave and trim beards and moustaches.
May shampoo and rinse hair.
May perform receptionist duties and order supplies.
May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices, and barbers.
Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time.

Wage: $36 per hour.

Skills requirements:
Required education:
o Completion of secondary school (high school) education.
o Completion of a hair styling certification program with on-the-job training.
Required work experience:
o 3 or more years of experience as a hairstylist and barber.
o Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
o Excellent communication skills to understand client requests and provide appropriate
recommendations
o Knowledge of retail sales practices to promote and sell hair care products
