Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hydrovac and Flusher Operator to join our construction, excavation, and utility maintenance team. This role involves operating specialized hydrovac and high-pressure flusher equipment to safely and efficiently perform excavation, pipeline cleaning, and daylighting tasks across various projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong heavy equipment operation skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience with specialized construction and utility machinery. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision and safety awareness in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Operate hydrovac and flusher combo trucks for excavation, potholing, sewer cleaning, and utility line maintenance with precision and safety protocols
Perform high-pressure water jetting and vacuuming to clear debris and blockages from storm lines, sanitary sewers, and catch basins
Utilize heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, dozers, and pavers as needed for site preparation and support
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydrovac and flusher equipment to ensure optimal performance
Assist with the setup and breakdown of work zones, including site safety measures
Coordinate with project managers and team members to execute excavation and pipeline flushing plans efficiently
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs when necessary
Follow all safety guidelines related to heavy equipment operation, construction sites, and environmental regulations

Qualifications

Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment including excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, dozers, and pavers
Experience with hydrovac operations, flusher/combo units, high-pressure water jetting, or similar vacuum excavation equipment preferred
Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is highly desirable for transporting equipment between sites
Construction or municipal maintenance experience with a focus on utility installation, sewer line maintenance, or site excavation is preferred
Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques is a plus
Ability to work in physically demanding environments while maintaining safety standards
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
Must be a part of LiUNA Union
Experience needed (1 year min)
