Marketing, Communications, and Fund Development Coordinator

The Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay is looking for an outgoing and driven individual to join their team to help shape how the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay shows up in the community!

The Marketing, Communications and Fund Development Coordinator (MCFD Coordinator) is responsible for the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay's marketing, communications, awareness and fund development initiatives. You'll create and carry out marketing and communication efforts, build awareness about dementia, promote programs and services, and help grow fundraising results. You'll also support sponsorships, community partnerships and key events like the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's, along with other local fundraising activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Builds public awareness by promoting dementia education, Society programs and services, and key organizational initiatives through media, marketing and community outreach.
Plans and delivers marketing projects, awareness campaigns, outreach activities and promotional materials in collaboration with staff and community partners.
Strengthens community engagement by working with local organizations and evaluating marketing efforts to support continuous improvement and broader provincial and national initiatives.
Manages and updates all communication channels - website, social media, newsletters and print materials - ensuring content aligns with organizational priorities and brand standards.
Creates digital and print materials, contributes content for newsletters and publications, and collaborates with staff to share educational, promotional awareness and research?based information.

Tracks and analyzes communication and web analytics, maintains records and statistics, and contributes to reports including funding submissions and the Annual Report.

Supports planning, promotion and delivery of fundraising events - including the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's - while coordinating logistics, budgets and third?party initiatives.
Builds and maintains sponsorships, donor relationships and community partnerships, including meeting with potential supporters and coordinating stewardship and recognition.
Tracks, analyzes and reports on fundraising, sponsorship and event outcomes to guide improvement and future planning.
Additional responsibilities as needed.

Location:

This position is office-based in Thunder Bay and requires some travel throughout the District to support Society programs, services, events, awareness initiatives and community partnerships. Mileage and approved travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Society policies.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education or related experience, preferably in marketing, communications, special event planning, fundraising or event sales marketing.
Minimum 2 -3 years related work experience in an event coordination role and/or a combination of education, experience, and training.
Knowledge of the non-profit sector, charitable giving, sponsorship development and community engagement.
Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate and evaluate marketing, communications and fund development initiatives.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience preparing correspondence, reports, promotional materials and presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint), content creation and graphic design platforms (e.g. Canva), social media and digital marketing tools, website content management systems, analytics platforms, donor management software, and the ability to independently manage administrative responsibilities.
Experience coordinating events, volunteers, community partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
Experience working with sponsorships, fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship or community engagement activities is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and the programs and services offered by the Alzheimer Society is considered an asset.

Requirements:

Valid Class G Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to travel throughout Thunder Bay and District as required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support organizational events, programs and community initiatives.
Ability to lift and transport event materials and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Salary:

This position pays $50,000 per annum, with vacation and additional holiday time off, flexibility, competitive benefits, RRSP match, and more!
