Permanent Full-Time – 1 Vacancy
70 Hours Biweekly
Rate: starting at $36.35/hour (based on qualifications and experience)

Canadian Mental Health Association – Thunder Bay Branch is a non-profit organization committed to supporting individual recovery and promoting mental wellness within families and communities throughout northwestern Ontario.

What is the job!

The Manager of Mental Health Promotion and Education will report to the Director Program Services. The Manager is responsible for the overall management of the program including program development, coordination and supervision of staff and trainers involved within the Mental Health Promotion and Education program. As a member of the Management team, the Manager participates in the development of program and quality improvement initiatives as well as leads the implementation of Recovery into program promotion and education.

What will you do day to day?

Facilitates the delivery of exemplary mental health promotion and education activities within an Interdisciplinary team environment
Develops, delivers and promotes Mental Health Promotion and Education workshops and campaigns in collaboration with staff and the community
Leads, monitors and evaluates the design and delivery of service standards, goals and performance measures within the context of the organization’s strategic plan and common service philosophy and model
Monitoring and evaluating staff performance to ensure service quality assurance (i.e. time management, employee supports and evaluations etc.)
Ensures program statistics are collected and reported accurately and timely
Participation as a member of the Management and Leadership teams, providing back up management support to other service areas & participating in the after hours on call management process, as required.
Assists in the development and implementation of corporate policies, standards, and management processes
Actively participates in the hiring, orientation, managing, evaluating and training of identified program staff
Ensuring effective use of human and financial resources
Ensuring proper documentation and reports are completed and submitted as requested
Facilitating other project management activities
Adhering to and promoting CMHA’s Code of Ethics Policy & Health and Safety Policies
Other duties as assigned

What do you bring to the job?

College diploma or University undergraduate degree in health or human services
Minimum 1 year of progressive management experience
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
Experience in organizing, and training groups
Knowledge of mental health issues
Strong leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to positively influence others
In-depth knowledge of CMHA Thunder Bay and the programs offered
Experience with data collection, interpretation and analysis
Proficiency in the use of computers and computer software (Microsoft products, Canva Adobe etc.)
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of Recovery Principles & Approaches
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Current Police Criminal Certificate
Vehicle and valid Class “G” driver’s licence with 2 million liability insurance
Ability to speak French is considered an asset
Legally eligible to work in Canada
