Position:
Associate Pastor for English Ministry
Remuneration:
$60,000 - $75,000 CAD annually
IRECT is a Reformed Presbyterian congregation of approximately 130 members, founded in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, in 2001. We are committed to equipping our members to become God-loving, Christ-glorifying, Spirit-filled, Bible-saturated people.
We are currently seeking a full-time Associate Pastor to lead and develop our English Ministry, which currently consists of approximately 40 - 50 people, most of whom are young adults.
Qualifications:
● Meets the spiritual and character qualifications of an elder as specified in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
● Subscribes to the Three Forms of Unity and the Westminster Standards.
● Has completed at least an undergraduate degree in theology, such as a Bachelor of Theology or equivalent.
● Is ordained, or willing and able to be ordained within IREC.
● Has at least five years of pastoral ministry experience, including experience ministering to young adults.
● Demonstrates vision and passion to lead the English Ministry’s spiritual growth toward Christian maturity and into a more international, gospel-centered ministry.
● Is an excellent communicator and an effective biblical teacher and preacher, both to believers and to those exploring Christianity.
● Is relational, with a heart to care for people, especially in one-on-one ministry.
● Is passionate about proclaiming the gospel through biblical evangelism and equipping the congregation for faithful, Christ-centred outreach within the local community.
● Has leadership ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to work independently toward agreed-upon goals.
Primary responsibilities:
● Preach the Word of God on Sundays, as scheduled.
● Provide consistent pastoral visitation, care, and biblical counselling to members.
● Disciple believers with teaching and catechesis grounded in Scripture and the Reformed confessions; model spiritual growth for believers by exemplifying a faithful Christian life; and encourage believers to take on active roles in ministry and mentor them throughout their ministry service.
● Work closely with the Senior Pastor and elders in casting, developing, and carrying out the church’s vision and ministry goals.
● Shepherd and equip the church’s discipleship group leaders and develop the discipleship ministry.
● Lead the English Ministry toward becoming a more international, gospel-centered ministry that welcomes people from all backgrounds while maintaining biblical unity and faithful ministry.
● Support the English Ministry’s effort in faithfully reaching out to unattending members.
● Lead, supervise, and support the English Ministry’s lay leaders in planning, coordinating, and carrying out church and ministry programs.
● Lead and support the church’s evangelism and outreach efforts.
● Report directly to the Senior Pastor.
