At IDK, we are between a bar and a nightclub, so think "house party vibes." Our team is a tight-knit, super chill group of people who actually enjoy working together, having fun, and keeping the energy high.
We are looking for a magnetic Door Host to be the face of IDK. You are the first point of contact for all our guests.
Ossington is always buzzing, and your main mission is to turn that heavy foot traffic into our guests. You will be standing outside our front door, bringing the energy, and inviting everyone who walks by to come inside. Whether you're hyping up our drink specials ("$5 shots until midnight!") or selling the atmosphere ("House party vibes inside, come check us out!"), you need to be ready to chat up every single person who passes.
Please Note: This is NOT a security or bouncer position. We want a warm, inviting, and high-energy host to welcome people in—not turn them away. This role is open to anyone (male or female) who has the charisma to match our vibe.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the Hype Person: Proactively engage with 100% of the foot traffic walking past the bar. Bring high energy, charm, and a welcoming attitude to the street.
- Pitch the Vibe: Funnel crowd flow into the bar by promoting our nightly deals, music, and house-party atmosphere.
- Door Hosting: Welcoming guests, checking IDs to ensure everyone is of legal drinking age, and greeting people as they enter.
- Capacity Management: Keep a headcount on busy nights to ensure we stay within capacity limits, keeping the party safe and fun.
What We Are Looking For
- The Ultimate Extrovert: You genuinely love talking to people. You’re charismatic, loud (in a good way), and rejection rolls right off your back.
- High Energy: You can keep the positive vibes going from 10 PM to 2 AM.
- Thick Skin & Cold Weather Tolerance: Ossington gets busy, and you’ll be working outdoors on the sidewalk, so you need to be comfortable standing for your shift (and dressing for the weather!).
- Smart Serve Certified: Since you'll be checking IDs at a licensed Ontario establishment, a valid Smart Serve certificate is required.
- Team Player: You’re reliable, down-to-earth, and ready to vibe with the rest of the IDK staff.
