Organization Description

Porzia’s is a small neighborhood restaurant specializing in Italian classics. Located on Oakwood Ave just off Corso Italia in Toronto’s west end Porzia’s is committed to providing amazing food and wine in a relaxed casual environment.

Porzia’s is growing and we are looking to hire a line cook that will grow with us. We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated individuals committed to creating an inclusive, positive work environment.

5+ years of kitchen experience in a high paced restaurant enviroment

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Committed to creating an inclusive positive work environment
Strong and effective communication with all staff
Maintain daily cleanliness and sanitation of all production, service areas and equipment
Ability to deal with a fast paced environment
Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
Maintain all food safety and exceeding sanitary requirements
Perform delegated tasks from Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, and/or General Manager
Day to day food preparation of the restaurant
Prepares vegetables, fruit, meat and seafood with great technique and following safe food handling procedures at all times.
Maintaining a prep list of station duties and taking effective notes for station set up and service.
Performing all opening and closing assignments as instructed
Cook, plate and garnish dishes during service while maintaining a clean, efficient professional

Job Qualifications

Professional, personable and team-oriented
Ability to multi-task and conduct one’s self calmly and effectively under pressure
Strong and effective communication
2+ years of experience in a full service restaurant environment
Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills
Be solutions and detail-oriented with a high degree of professionalism
Seeks new demanding challenges
Experience cooking and handling food in a high-volume dining restaurant
Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings and nights
Strong work ethic
Valid Food Handlers Certificate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
