About Mianco
Mianco Group is a privately owned construction services company based in Stouffville, Ontario, serving customers throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
This position will primarily represent Mianco Ready-Mix, our volumetric concrete division, while also supporting business development initiatives for Mianco Environmental, including disposal bin rentals, aggregate supply, excess soil disposal, demolition and recycling services.
The successful candidate will be expected to identify opportunities across both divisions; however, the primary objective of this role is to drive the continued growth of our Ready-Mix business.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to ownership, the Business Development Representative will be responsible for generating new business, developing customer relationships and growing sales throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
The primary focus of this role is expanding Mianco Ready-Mix by developing new customer accounts and increasing market share within the Ready-Mix Concrete industry. The successful candidate will also identify opportunities to promote and sell Mianco Environmental services where they complement customer needs, helping maximize the value of each customer relationship.
This is a field-based position, with the majority of time spent visiting contractors, construction sites and prospective customers throughout the GTA.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Prospect and develop new Ready-Mix Concrete customers throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
- Generate new business through networking, referrals, cold calling, jobsite visits and relationship building.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with concrete contractors, general contractors, developers, landscapers, pool builders, municipalities and other construction professionals.
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Identify opportunities to introduce customers to additional Mianco Environmental services, including disposal bin rentals, aggregate supply, demolition, recycling and excess soil disposal.
- Follow industry bidding opportunities and upcoming construction projects to identify new business opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management
- Become the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Build long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
- Conduct regular customer visits to job sites and offices to better understand project requirements and upcoming opportunities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service before, during and after each project.
Estimating & Sales
- Prepare quotations, proposals and pricing for Ready-Mix Concrete projects.
- Follow up on all quotations and actively pursue awarded work.
- Coordinate with dispatch and operations to ensure customers receive exceptional service and on-time deliveries.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Business Growth
- Identify opportunities to promote Mianco Environmental services, including disposal bin rentals, aggregate supply, excess soil disposal, demolition and recycling services, where they complement customer needs.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
- Attend networking events, trade shows and industry functions to promote the Mianco brand.
CRM & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, opportunities and sales activity within our CRM system.
- Prepare weekly sales activity reports and pipeline updates.
- Provide regular feedback to management regarding customer needs, market conditions and business opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Ready-Mix Concrete sales experience.
- Proven track record of generating new business and growing customer accounts.
- Strong understanding of Ready-Mix Concrete products, applications and the construction industry.
- Existing relationships with contractors, builders and developers within the GTA are strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with strong time management and follow-up skills.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the GTA daily.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling volumetric concrete.
- Experience in environmental services, disposal bin rentals, aggregate supply or construction materials.
- Experience reading construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of municipal, commercial and residential construction projects.
