Full job description

We are seeking a friendly and professional Banquet Server to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional guest services during events and ensuring a memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and experience in food service environments such as restaurants, hotels, or the food industry. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where customer satisfaction is our top priority.

Duties

Serve food and beverages to guests at banquets, receptions, and special events with professionalism and courtesy
Set up, maintain, and reset banquet rooms according to event standards
Assist with food preparation and presentation as needed to ensure timely service
Ensure all food handling and safety standards are strictly followed in accordance with food safety regulations
Serve plated meals, buffets, wine, cocktails, and beverages efficiently and professionally
Assist with room setup, polishing, table settings, and event breakdown
Provide attentive guest services, addressing any special requests or concerns promptly
Collaborate with event staff and kitchen personnel to ensure smooth operation of events
Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance throughout each shift

Skills

Valid Smart Serve Certification (required)
Strong English communication skills, spoken and written (required)
Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
Previous experience in banquet, hospitality, restaurant, catering, or customer service is considered an asset
Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and food safety standards
Ability to serve efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction well
Physically able to stand for extended periods and carry trays or banquet equipment when required
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night events is require
Must be legally able to work in Canada
