Full job description

Eaton’s Canadian CPDI Sales Division is currently seeking a Business Development Manager, MTDC (Multi Tenant Data Centers) to join the team. This is a hybrid role, based at our Toronto, ON office and has approximately 50% travel.

What you’ll do:

The Business Development Manager will lead Eaton’s MTDC growth strategy across Canada. This role focuses on driving penetration into co-location and hyperscale operators by leveraging Eaton’s end-to-end electrical and digital infrastructure portfolio. Solutions will encompass Eaton’s entire electrical offer portfolio consisting of products, systems, solutions and services and may also include the complete, ONE EATON portfolio where appropriate by customer. Success requires a consultative approach, strong technical knowledge, relationship building management and the ability to navigate a fast-moving, high-growth market.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Account Planning: Lead, coordinate and define action oriented, national account plan including input from all members of the national sales, service and support team assigned and associated with the client(s) and as mutually agreed, where appropriate, by the assigned account(s). Identify and prioritize strategic Multi Tenant Data Center (MTDC) accounts. Provide necessary, company-wide visibility to the assigned account(s) opportunity pipeline and include this critical information in all required status and results reporting. Utilize Salesforce to develop and update an opportunity pipeline for assigned accounts.

Customer Relationship Management: Build executive-level relationships at MTDC operators and design-build firms. Lead, develop and deliver presentations involving a variety (company overview, programs, products, systems, solutions, services, account plan, etc.) to appropriate resources at various levels in the assigned account(s).

Opportunity Management and Sales Execution: Lead, develop and manage key account negotiations – standing agreements or transactional, including terms & conditions, pricing, service level agreements, etc. Drive national account opportunity identification, pursuit and closure - involving applicable products, systems, solutions and services Execute Eaton’s MTDC go-to-market plan, focusing on white space and grey space solutions (LV/MV switchgear, UPS, busway, PDUs, STS, RPP, modular enclosures, etc.)

Cross-functional Collaboration : Resolve any resource misalignment or account priority issues with the appropriate regional or local resource structural manager. Collaborate with US MTDC team and Canadian stakeholders for resource alignment.

Market Insights: Track trends such as AI workloads, immersion cooling, and GPU-driven designs to align Eaton’s offerings. Represent Eaton at industry events and trade shows. Provide specific voice of customer feedback to appropriate product, system, solution and service business leaders – for future product development, quality, modification, customer satisfaction and other purposes.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Minimum seven (7) years of electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
No relocation provided for this role. This role requires working onsite (hybrid schedule) at our Toronto, ON office.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
8+ years of direct sales/account management experience
2+ years of experience in strategic marketing
Technical and commercial understanding of low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage transformers, large UPS, PDU & STS and associated pricing tools.

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $132,000 - 165,000.

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
