About the Role
Evertrust Development Group Inc. is looking for a Litigation Lawyer with Ontario litigation experience to assist with a wide range of ongoing dispute matters.
This role is well suited for a lawyer who is comfortable managing files, drafting persuasive court materials, supporting procedural steps, and providing practical legal advice to internal business teams.
The successful candidate will be involved in disputes connected to real estate, construction, development, condominium, enforcement, contractual and commercial issues, and will help move files forward efficiently and strategically.
Key Responsibilities
· Handle litigation and dispute matters from early review and assessment through resolution.
· Prepare pleadings, motion records, affidavits, factums, demand letters, settlement materials, correspondence and other legal documents.
· Assist with motions, applications, discoveries, mediations, negotiations, hearings and other litigation steps.
· Provide advice on litigation strategy, evidence, procedural requirements, risk, enforcement options and settlement opportunities.
· Work with management and internal teams to collect facts, review records, organize supporting documents and advance files in a timely manner.
· Liaise with external counsel, consultants, experts and opposing counsel where required.
· Manage multiple active matters while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, sound judgment and strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
· LL.B. or J.D.
· Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
· Ontario litigation experience is required.
· Strong legal drafting, advocacy, analytical and file management skills.
· Experience drafting or preparing court materials for contested matters.
· Good working knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure.
· Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
Preferred Experience
· Commercial litigation.
· Construction litigation.
· Real estate litigation.
· Condominium-related disputes.
· Experience in an in-house legal setting is an asset, but not required.
