Velocity – Global Procurement, Business Analyst Internship/Co-Op – Fall 2026

Term: September – April 2027 (8 months)

Work Hours: 37.5

The Velocity Program is not your average internship or co-op! This is a customized experience that focuses on providing you with the development and tools you need to grow your career. After successfully completing a co-op or internship with top performance, we will work with you to establish your future placements. As a result, you will get to learn, grow, and experiment within different areas of both Scotiabank and Tangerine!

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Conduct internal spend analysis by developing cost/pricing models by consolidating data from various sourcing categories

Creating and maintaining various presentations and reports using Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and PowerBI

Conduct market, industry and product research using internal and external resources

Support the development of documentation, presentations, supplier contracts and implementation plans

Assist in spend validation and data cleansing to improve the quality of data sources

Assist in the creation of RF(x) proposals, including evaluation criteria and pricing models

Create and configure RF(x) strategies and competitive bidding events using the Bank’s technology platforms

Support the team in the execution of initiatives, project management, or other ad-hoc analyses

Support with developing, coordinating, and improving the internal and external capabilities of Global Procurement (e.g. tools, processes, templates, technologies)

Support with bank-wide enablement of procurement standards and tools

Applies risk management and compliance checks when researching and analyzing supply markets and contract performance to identify potential risks and trigger risk mitigation and management responses

Support dependent projects needed to reach the overall strategic objectives, including monitoring progress to ensure that milestones are being met

You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.

You love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future.

You enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and competitions and/or hackathons.

You are resourceful and creative in gathering & mining data from various sources and applications (includes both quantitative and qualitative data).

You have excellent analytical skills: able to understand & manipulate complex and large datasets; being comfortable with unstructured data is important.

A collaborative team-player who can build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups.

You can learn and navigate through new applications quickly and efficiently.

You have basic knowledge in data collection, manipulation, cleansing and analysis experience with work or project experience with spreadsheet modeling and database management.

You are proficient in MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Procurement, sourcing, vendor management and contract analysis experience are good-to-have’s (but not required)

Knowledge of project and program management best practices and methodologies are good-to-have’s (but not required)

Data visualization and reporting experience are an asset (ex: Power BI).
