Spend Your Summer Inspiring Young Musicians!

Long & McQuade Richmond Hill is looking for enthusiastic, music-loving individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors for our exciting 2026 summer camp season! If you’re passionate about music, enjoy working with children, and thrive in a creative and dynamic environment, this role is perfect for you.

Availability Required

Weekdays (July 6-Aug 21)

Camp Details:

Dates: Weekly camps throughout July and August 2026
Age Group: Students aged 5–11

Camp Counselor Responsibilities

Facilitate full-day, week-long summer camp programs that immerse students in music discovery, ensemble performance, and fun, creative activities.
Lead musical activities such as ensemble singing, dancing, acting, and hands-on introductions to instruments like piano, ukulele, hand percussion, and recorder.
Encourage teamwork, creativity, and collaboration while helping campers build their musical skills.
Assist in coordinating and organizing a final showcase performance for campers’ families at the end of each camp week.
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers throughout the day while creating a fun, supportive environment.

Requirements

Strong musical background, with proficiency in multiple instruments (piano, ukulele, voice, and percussion preferred).
At least 2–3 years of experience working with children in camp or educational settings.
Passion for music education and a natural ability to connect with children.
Valid First Aid/CPR certificate or willingness to obtain before camp.
Availability to work full-time during July and August 2026.
Experience in developing or enhancing camp activities and curriculum is an asset.

Qualifications

Early Childhood Education Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Music, Education, or relevant field experience.
Proven experience teaching music to children in group or private settings.
Knowledge of various instruments and ability to teach musical concepts in an engaging and accessible way.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
