Job Overview

Embark on an exciting journey as an Apprentice Baker, where you will develop foundational skills in baking and food preparation while working alongside experienced pastry chefs and bakers. This paid apprenticeship offers a dynamic environment focused on learning, creativity, and craftsmanship. You will gain hands-on experience in bakery operations, from mixing ingredients to decorating baked goods, all while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to build a career in the vibrant food industry.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes, following established recipes and procedures
Support the cake decorating process by learning techniques for icing, piping, and finishing touches
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace to ensure compliance with food safety standards
Handle food preparation tasks such as measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and portioning dough
Contribute to packaging baked items neatly and efficiently for retail or catering purposes
Follow all food handling protocols to ensure hygiene and safety at all times
Support the team during busy periods by helping with general kitchen duties and customer service when needed

Skills

Basic knowledge of food preparation and baking techniques
Experience or interest in cake decorating is a plus
Strong commitment to food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
Previous restaurant or food industry experience is advantageous but not required
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food handling procedures
Passion for baking, cooking, and creating visually appealing baked goods

Pay: $17.60-$21.00 per hour
