Job Title: Mascot Performer - Sasquatch

Location: Mississauga, Ontario. This position must be in-person.

Employment Type: Independent contractor opportunity!

Schedule:

Mississauga Festival: September 11 - 13, 2026 at Erindale Park.

Compensation: A flat rate of $750 for the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival event weekend!

The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival is looking for an energetic performer to step into the fuzzy feet of our elusive Sasquatch mascot!

Key Responsibilities:

As a Sasquatch mascot, your job is simple:

Embody the elusive spirit of the Sasquatch, participating in “SasqWatch” live game where a guest on stage must find you in the audience. Remain hidden until “spotted”, then stand, wave, and display prize to the guest.
Assist handlers with delivering beverages to VIP area and handing out festival merchandise and giveaways.
Roam the festival grounds in costume, remaining silent while in character.
Engage with festival guests in a charming, comedic, and entertaining way.
Create fun, joy, and unexpected moments for guests; post for selfies, wave hello, give high-fives.
Take regular breaks to stay cool while wearing a full-body fur costume.

Our Ideal Mascot:

Must be at least 19 years of age.
Due to the costume restrictions, the ideal height for this performer is between 5’5 - 6’0.
Comfortable working in warm temperatures in full costume, being physically active, enthusiastic, and able to commit to staying in character at all times.
Formal mascot experience is not required , although always welcome! We invite applicants with all levels of experience including, but not limited to:

Character and costume performers, such as seasonal and children’s entertainers
Theatre or improv performance.
Dance/movement-based work.
Street performers, clowning, and miming.

The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival is all about bringing laughter and joy to people’s lives. We are looking for someone who can help spread joy and mystery throughout the event.
