Job Title: Ultrasound Technician, Casual (potential to transition to full-time)

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Cleveland Clinic Canada is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technician with at least 1 year of General Ultrasound experience to join our team.
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as a strong attention to detail.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of a Generalist Sonographer (small parts, vascular, MSK, breasts all included but not limited to)
- Documents, reports, and reviews ultrasound findings to provide an accurate patient diagnosis.
- Reviews patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
- Ensures that the order (or standing order) is complete and contains relevant information.
- Applies independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures, and documents all findings.
- Operates the PACS as needed so that the reporting physician may report findings.
- As necessary, acquires additional images to provide a thorough exam, and documents any limitations to the exam.
- Ensures the care provided is safe, appropriate, tailored, timely, and maximizes the potential of the available equipment and resources.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Assists with facilitating the flow of patients through the clinic
- Demonstrates commitment to a patient centered approach to care.
- Respects patient rights and needs and foster an environment that encourages the patient’s involvement in their own care. This commitment is extended to patients from all cultures and backgrounds, ensuring all are treated with dignity, equity, and respect.
- Participates in quality control, assurance, and improvement programs.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
- Monitors patient status and responds to any change in condition, to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Organizes, prioritizes and co-ordinates scheduling of procedures, communicates verbally with appropriate personnel regarding procedure types, lab results, equipment failures, policies, and procedures.
- Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
- Perform Safety and sanitary procedures after each test on the equipment.
- Maintain adequate supplies.
- Other duties as assigned and required for operational purposes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Current registration with CMRITO
- Continuing education annually as required by the CMRITO
- A minimum of one year of Ultrasound Tech. experience in Canada is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills are essential.
- Liability Insurance is a requirement.
- Work based on all regulations and ALARA principles.
- Display effective time management skills, decision-making abilities, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Interact well with staff and patients through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
The pay range reflects the expected compensation for this position. The final rate offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidates’ experience, education, training and alignment with the role’s expectations.
