Full job description

JOB TITLE: Concession Staff
DEPARTMENT: Special Events
REPORTS TO: Concessions Manager
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time Hourly Contract

Marigolds and Onions provides customers across the GTA with a one-stop-shop catering experience. From daily corporate drop-offs to large-scale events, our commitment to service and quality is unmatched. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Toronto, we have become one of the city’s leading catering and event production companies, serving major professional firms, charitable organizations, and high-profile sporting events.

We are hiring Concession Staff to support our food and beverage operations at the The Bowl Concert Series, taking place at Sobeys Stadium at York University in Toronto, ON. Positions include bartenders, cashiers, and support staff. Each role is essential to delivering smooth service and an exceptional guest experience. Applicants must be able to most event dates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced concession environment
Assemble and fill guest orders quickly and accurately
Support setup tasks such as preparing condiment stations, and stocking fridges and merchandisers
Serve beverages, including opening beer, pouring wine, and retrieving items from fridges or displays
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service during peak periods
Maintain cleanliness throughout the shift by wiping counters, emptying trash, and restocking items
Follow all food safety, alcohol service, and event protocols
Remain on your feet for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks as required
Assist with closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and organizing equipment

SCREENING QUESTIONS

Are you legally eligible to work in Canada?
Do you have any restrictions on the number of hours you can work per week?
Are you able to commute or travel to Sobeys Stadium at York University in Toronto, ON?

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Smart Serve Certification is required for all positions.
Previous experience in concessions, customer service, bartending, or event food & beverage preferred.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physically capable of prolonged standing and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude under pressure.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Event-based concession stations in busy, high-traffic areas
Indoor and outdoor setups with exposure to varying weather conditions
Fast-paced atmosphere requiring continuous standing, walking, and lifting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Extended periods of standing and repetitive movements
Frequent walking and lifting of items such as beverage trays, boxes, and inventory (up to 25 lbs)
Use of basic kitchen and beverage equipment

POSITION SALARY & BENEFITS

Rate: $18/hour
Schedule: Varies by shift
