Full job description

OVERVIEW

Acts as a Receptionist and performs clerical duties including data entry in Ansos and maintains statistical information for patient care delivery in the Out Patient Clinics. Relates to patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner and interacts collaboratively with the interdisciplinary staff to provide patient-centered care.

EDUCATION

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent educational preparation.
Training related to office administration/office coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

2 years of relevant recent experience working as a unit clerk in an outpatient setting required.
Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Demonstrated skill in use of ESM and Powerchart, required.
Demonstrated skill in Ansos and SAP/SRM preferred.
Experience with internal medicine, infectious disease disciplines preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
Computer literacy required; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent keyboarding skills.
Demonstrates ability to provide patient centred, customer service care.
Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and discretion in matters related to patients, staff, and hospital affairs.
Able to work independently as well as workin a team environment.
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills.
Must be prepared to work in all areas of Surgical Health Services (skills & abilities considered).
Good work and attendance record required.
