Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and attentive Part-time Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. Seasonal Part-Time Server – Breakfast Restaurant

Location: Downtown TorontoJob Type: Part-Time, Seasonal (Immediate Start – End of September 2026)

About the Role

Sunset Grill is looking for an experienced, reliable, and customer-focused Part-Time Seasonal Server to join our team until the end of September 2026.

This is a fast-paced breakfast restaurant, so previous breakfast serving experience is required. Experience working at Sunset Grill is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and professional customer service
Take food and beverage orders accurately
Serve meals efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch hours
Handle cash and POS transactions
Maintain a clean and organized dining area
Work as part of a team to deliver an excellent guest experience

Requirements

Previous breakfast restaurant serving experience is required
Experience at Sunset Grill is a strong asset
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Available for morning shifts, weekdays, and weekends
Smart Serve certification is an asset
Legally eligible to work in Canada

Duties

Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems, including Micros POS if available
Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
Handle cash and process payments accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
Assist with food preparation or kitchen tasks as needed to support smooth restaurant operations
Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations in compliance with sanitation standards
Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
Provide guest services that promote a positive dining experience and encourage repeat visits

Qualifications

Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
Ability to handle food safely and follow sanitation guidelines diligently
Basic math skills for cashiering and billing purposes
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
Experience with food handling, food safety standards, and hospitality best practices is desirable
Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with guests and staff
Flexibility to work part-time hours including evenings and weekends as needed
