Full job description

Are you a driven retail professional who enjoys building relationships, creating impactful in-store displays, and seeing the direct results of your work? Market Recon is looking for an energetic Merchandiser/Territory Sales Representative to represent one of Canada's most recognized food brands, Dr. Oetker.

This is an exciting field-based role that combines merchandising (85%) with a smaller sales component (15%), giving you the opportunity to take ownership of a territory, build strong retail partnerships, and drive brand visibility across major grocery banners.

Territory

To best support the assigned market, candidates should live in Toronto or Mississauga. The territory includes; Mississauga (Mavis Road and east), Etobicoke, North York, Downsview, and Toronto (up to Yonge Street).

You'll work with leading grocery retailers including: Walmart, Zehrs, Fortinos, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, Sobeys, FreshCo, Foodland, Metro, and Food Basics.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing and executing marketing/sales strategy in a specific territory of grocery and retail locations on a daily basis.
Accountable for communicating and supporting account promotions; including building displays, upselling orders and ensuring account and marketing programs are executed.
Ensure operational excellence through management of call cycle, frequency, coverage, and time in call.
Deliver weekly program objectives from preparation, to in field execution and handheld reporting.
Present, promote and sell in innovation products and brand awareness programs (i.e. campaigns, demo programs).
Build brand presence through interactions with department managers and decision makers.
Meet weekly, monthly and quarterly sales program quotas (display, items in display, distribution, upselling).
Train stores on the goals and objectives of the retail program.
Maintain strong relationships with store personnel.
Create a positive and engaging experience between the consumer and brand.
Provide feedback to District Manager.

Skills & Qualifications:

1-2 years retail sales experience in Canadian grocery or mass retail industry.
1 year Merchandising experience is required.
Territory and/or Account Management is an asset.
Ability to be adaptable and work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
Attention to detail, organization and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Proficient in MS Office.
At times, can be physically demanding lifting product and stocking freezers.
Available to travel within the assigned market (as outlined above).
Must have a valid driver’s license, your vehicle and a clean drivers abstract.
Full background check is required.
