Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with experience in plating and food presentation. This role involves preparing high-quality baked goods, creating visually appealing desserts, and ensuring all products meet food safety standards. The Pastry Chef will contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences through delicious and beautifully crafted pastries and desserts.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
Assist with food preparation and cooking for the restaurant's dessert and savoury menu
Handle food safely and maintain proper hygiene practices in accordance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
Support inventory management by monitoring ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production

Qualifications

Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related culinary field; restaurant experience is a mandatory
Skills in plating and food presentation techniques
Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong attention to detail and creativity in dessert design
Excellent customer service skills when interacting with guests or clients
Experience with food preparation, cooking, and general kitchen operations
Kitchen experience within the food industry is mandatory
