Hello Nori is a fast fine-dining Japanese restaurant with a bold mission: to redefine the hand roll bar experience. Since launching in 2021, Hello Nori has quickly become one of Canada’s most exciting and recognized dining concepts, known for its premium ingredients, precise execution, and elevated guest experience.

As we continue expanding across Canada, we are looking for a passionate and driven Senior Supervisor to lead our King Street (Toronto) location. This is an opportunity to be part of a high-growth brand and play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.

Job Overview

As a Senior Supervisor, you will act as the leader on the floor, responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring a seamless guest experience. You will drive team performance, maintain high standards, and support the development of a strong service culture.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

Lead the dining room floor and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction
Address guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Uphold Hello Nori’s premium service standards at all times

Team Leadership

Supervise servers, hosts, and support staff during service
Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure smooth execution of service
Manage floor flow and staffing levels in real time

Training & Development

Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to team members
Reinforce service standards, product knowledge, and company culture

Scheduling & Operations

Create and manage staff schedules using Push
Ensure proper coverage during peak hours and manage shift adjustments

Quality Control

Ensure all dishes meet Hello Nori standards before reaching guests
Maintain consistency in presentation and timing

Inventory Management

Monitor and manage inventory levels
Place orders and ensure proper stock for service needs

Health & Safety

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organization across front and back of house

Cash Handling & Reporting

Oversee cash handling and POS operations
Ensure accurate reporting and communication with management

Reservations & Events

Manage reservations and coordinate special events when required

Problem Solving

Handle guest concerns, team conflicts, and operational challenges efficiently

QualificationsEssential

1–2 years of experience in a similar restaurant environment
Strong communication and leadership skills
Proven ability to train, coach, and develop a team
Ability to handle fast-paced service and multitask effectively
Basic math and cash handling skills
Valid Smart Serve certification (Ontario)

Preferred

Experience with Auphan POS system
Knowledge of sake, wine, and Japanese cuisine
Strong understanding of sales and guest engagement
Previous leadership or supervisory experience
