Position Profile:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Speech Language department team.

Employment Status: Permanent Part time
Availability: Available to work on Weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekends. Availability to work on occasional Statutory holidays.
Location: Primary assignment is at the Hennick site with cross coverage at Finch and Church RCC sites may be required.
Labour Group: OPSEU 590
Reporting Relationship: Manager, Allied Health Services
Hourly Rate: $44.67 - $57.90

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure a high standard of patient care in accordance with Speech-Language Pathology policies and procedures.
Assess, treat, and manage referred patients with acute medical needs within the Medicine Program, including the ICU and Emergency Department, with additional coverage in the Surgery, Stroke, and Post‑Acute Programs as required.
Provide clinical care to adults with dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute care setting
Collaborate and communicate effectively with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Document patient assessments, progress, and discharge status in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
Participate in discharge planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, including completing required applications for external resources.
Record workload measurement data accurately and in a timely manner.
Provide consultation to other disciplines within the physical medicine area.
Serve as a clinical supervisor for Speech-Language Pathology students.
Provide coverage across multiple sites, including the Hennick and Reactivation Care Centres (Finch and Church locations).

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent.
Registration with CASLPO.
Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Sound professional knowledge and judgment in a clinical role.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Supportive of a multidisciplinary approach.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
