Job Overview
The Toronto Flyers Hockey Club is seeking a reliable, creative, and technically skilled individual to manage our live game broadcasts and livestream production for the upcoming hockey season.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about sports media, livestreaming, content creation, and fast-paced game day environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for both filming Toronto Flyers home games and managing the complete livestream production, ensuring a professional viewing experience for fans, families, players, and sponsors.
Responsibilities
Livestream Production
- Run and manage live game streams from start to finish
- Operate livestream software such as OBS, StreamYard, vMix, or similar platforms
- Build and manage overlays, transitions, lower thirds, graphics, sponsor ads, score bugs, and on-screen elements
- Monitor stream quality, audio, internet stability, and troubleshoot issues quickly during live broadcasts
- Coordinate closely with play-by-play announcers and team staff during games
- Manage pre-game, intermission, and post-game show elements
- Assist with quick player, coach, and staff interviews when required
Game Filming & Camera Operation
- Operate and manage the primary game camera throughout the broadcast
- Capture live game action, player introductions, interviews, and special presentations
- Follow the flow of play and maintain professional camera angles throughout the game
- Work independently while simultaneously managing the livestream production
- Ensure video quality remains consistent throughout the broadcast
Content & Graphics
- Create and manage basic graphics and visual assets for game day broadcasts
- Develop pre-game, intermission, and post-game visual elements
- Upload and organize livestream content when required
Requirements
- Previous livestream or live production experience preferred
- Strong understanding of livestream software and live event production
- Experience filming live sporting events is a strong asset
- Ability to stay calm and problem solve under pressure in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic graphic creation and editing skills
- Understanding of audio/video equipment and stream setup
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment alongside broadcasters, coaches, players, and team staff
Equipment Requirements
Applicants must provide their own equipment, including:
- Camera suitable for livestreaming sporting events
- Tripod
- Laptop
- Capture card
- HDMI cables
- Headset/communication equipment (preferred)
- Additional livestream equipment as required
Availability Requirements
Applicants must be available for all 20 Toronto Flyers home games during the regular season, as well as all home playoff games. Consistent attendance and reliability are essential, as this role is a key part of our game day operations and fan experience. Candidates should be available for pre-game setup, game operation, and post-game shutdown. Home games are primarily played on Saturday evenings at Paramount Ice in Thornhill, Ontario.
Compensation
- $20–$25 per hour depending on experience
- Typical game day shifts are approximately 3–5 hours
- Opportunity for additional paid content and editing work throughout the season
