Full job description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated game designer to join the creative team at Siege Camp to develop innovative massively multiplayer games. A successful candidate will work on the Foxhole team to develop new features and contribute to the future roadmap.

This is a 6 month fixed-term contract.

Siege Camp is an established independent video game studio located in downtown Toronto. Our goal is to develop innovative games that put thousands of players into the same persistent online world. We work in an open team environment where creators are encouraged to stretch their imagination and work beyond their existing constraints. We have a friendly and respectful team environment that values creativity and innovation.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize new features for upcoming game releases
Write detailed specifications and other documentation for features
Support other developers in the implementation of features
Conduct reviews of implemented features
Manage feature development schedules and delivery
Integrating art, data, and other assets in Unreal Engine or other editors

Requirements

3 years work experience in a professional environment
Extensive experience playing video games
Experience working with Google Docs or equivalent software
Strong documentation writing skills
Skilled in spreadsheet manipulation
Proficiency in foundational math, geometry, and statistics
Strong ability to manage tasks and schedules
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Self-motivated and able to resolve complex issues independently
Ability to take feedback and criticism with a positive attitude

Desired

Experience with Foxhole strongly desired
Passion for and knowledge of ancient warfare/history
Passion for strategy and massive multiplayer games
Experience working as a video game or board game designer
Experience working on a video game development team
Experience with modelling or level editing software
Experience with scripting or programming
