Full job description

The Catholic Independent Schools of Nelson Diocese (CISND), hosts six elementary schools, and one high school. The diocese is located in the beautiful Okanagan and Kootenay regions of British Columbia. We are committed to hiring qualified employees who are dedicated to education in the Roman Catholic tradition.

Little Saints Childcare Centre

at St. Michael's Catholic Elementary School (Trail, BC)

invites applications at this time for: Early Childhood Educator-ECE (3 days a week, 24 hrs/week)

for the 2026-27 School Year

Little Saints Childcare Centre, located at St. Michael's School , is seeking a certified ECE. Reporting to the School Principal, the ECE will facilitate high quality childcare and preschool experiences for children ages 2.5 - 5 years of age, in alignment with the philosophy of Little Saints Childcare Centre and the Catholic Diocese of Nelson. Our successful candidate will:

Plan and implement consistent, high quality, age appropriate child-centered programs
Maintain neat, orderly, and clean activity areas
Lead with enthusiasm and high energy
Ensure provincial safety and supervision standards are maintained
Abide by appropriate privacy and confidentiality requirements/legislation
Have keen interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
Competent in relationship building/collaboration and creating an environment of open communication
Effectively build positive interactions and listen attentively with children and families
Share information, best practices, and resources with colleagues
Have the ability to work under minimal supervision

CISND participates in the Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement program offered through the Government of BC. For further information about the position, please contact Principal of St. Michael's Catholic Elementary School.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

Commitment to Catholic Education
Identification with and active participation within a Catholic parish community
Early Childhood Educators License to practice

Certificate of Catholic baptism, or RCIA Certificate
Certificate of Catholic marriage, if applicable

Photocopy of Driver's License
