Job Type: Full-time | Permanent

Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 + benefits

Are you an organized and detail-oriented accounting professional looking to join a growing and supportive team We are seeking an Accounting Associate on behalf of a client in the Truro area who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the day-to-day operations of the business. This is an excellent opportunity to build your accounting career with a well-established company in the commercial equipment industry.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

Review, verify, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
Manage the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely payments.
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor accounts payable obligations and assist with cash flow planning.

Accounting & Financial Support

Assist the Financial Controller with the monthly accounting cycle.
Prepare journal entries as required.
Reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Maintain the warranty payables subledger in collaboration with the Service team.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Process and reconcile employee expense reimbursements.

Administrative & Operational Support

Cross-train to provide backup support for both Accounts Receivable and Equipment Coordination.
Maintain administrative tracking records, including company vehicles, employee training, corporate credit cards, and cell phones.
Coordinate employee training programs such as WHMIS, First Aid, and other required certifications.
Prepare accurate financial, sales, service, and operational reports for leadership.

What We’re Looking For

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–3 years of Accounting experience.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
A positive, team-oriented attitude with a professional approach.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to quickly learn new software systems.
Experience with CDK IntelliDealer and/or DocuWare is considered an asset.
