Full job description

Since opening in 1984, Van-Whole Produce has remained the leading experts in produce trading by providing high-quality and fresh produce to its clients. With our continuous expansion of client networks, we now provide fresh produce to more than 1,300 produce markets across Canada. To this day, we are still committed to provide personalized attention, value-added service and provide the highest quality in produce to our clients. We place our customers first by bringing over 400 varieties of fresh produce from over 40 different countries.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm, including Saturday and statutory holidays on rotation basis

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and organize documentation for shipments via sea, air and land transportation.
Coordinate pickup and receiving of overseas containers.
Communicate effectively with overseas suppliers and customs broker to facilitate smooth import processes..
Support buyers in consolidating booking sales.
Generate and distribute specialty price lists to relevant stakeholders.
Consolidate and maintain the shipping schedule for upcoming arrivals.
Liaise with CFIA/USDA as required for product inspection and clearance procedures.
Prepare and manage documents for buyers and internal teams.
Provide backup support to the Buying Assistant at another team as needed.
Enter shipping and booking data into the company computer system.
Verify and reconcile payable invoices against shipment and booking records.
Generate purchase orders.
Perform other duties or tasks assigned or required consistent with the nature and scope of the position.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education
Demonstrate communication and negotiation skills
Ability to multi-task under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast paced and high demand environment
Good telephone manner
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Import/Export experience is an asset
Proficiency in Cantonese, and/or Mandarin is an asset

Pay: $46,020.00-$53,040.00 per year
