Full job description

Assistant Controller

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This is a key leadership role for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment, values accuracy and accountability, and is capable of working closely with operational and executive leadership to support strategic business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial professional with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a minimum of 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. A CPA designation is preferred, but not required, for candidates with exceptional practical experience and demonstrated success in senior-level accounting roles.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Lead month-end, quarter end, and year-end close processes
Work closely with internal departments to support financial reporting and operational decision-making
Assist with cash flow management, inter-company reconciliations, and variance analysis
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
Mentor and support members of the accounting team
Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting efficiencies

Qualifications

Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
Previous experience in a senior accounting, controller, or assistant controller role
CPA designation preferred (or equivalent senior-level accounting experience)
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting best practices
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Proven ability to work closely with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
