What your day will look like:
- Oversee the houseperson team and coordinate their efforts in an effective manner.
- Control the flow of work for the day by organizing set up sheets.
- Check event orders to ensure information is correct, and verify staffing levels to maximize productivity, while ensuring all Banquet standards are met
- Serving food and beverage items.
- Gather all equipment necessary to service a function and maintain a clear and immaculate service corridor.
- Proper handling of all equipment, i.e. Props, glassware, tables, carts, stages, etc. ensuring proper storage after use.
- Training banquet housepersons and ensuring safety and service standards are being adhered to
- Maintain inventory control of operating supplies
- Inform supervisor of any problems or complaints
- All other duties as assigned by the banquet management team.
Your experience and skills include:
- Must possess outstanding, proactive guest service skills, professional presentation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and have a sales-oriented personality. Work well under pressure and as part of a professional team.
- Must be flexible to work varying schedules, mainly late nights (closing) and some early morning shifts.
- Must be fluent in English, a second language is an asset.
- In good physical condition, as this position requires constant walking, standing, bending and lifting.
- Must be able to bend, squat and lift up to 75 lbs. on regular and continuous basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
- Must have previous banquet serving experience.
- Must have Serving it Right certification
- Must have FoodSafe LeveL 1 certification
