Position Summary
The Door Security team member plays a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all guests at The Taphouse Coquitlam. This position combines security, customer service, and crowd management to ensure every guest can have a great time while maintaining a respectful and secure atmosphere. Responsibilities include monitoring guest behavior, checking identification, enforcing venue policies, and responding professionally to incidents or emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
- Verify identification and ensure compliance with BC liquor laws and venue policies.
- Monitor guest conduct and maintain a safe environment throughout the venue.
- Identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- De-escalate conflicts using strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Refuse entry or remove guests when necessary in accordance with venue policies.
- Assist with crowd control during busy periods, special events, and closing time.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs of the venue to identify safety concerns.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, or disturbances.
- Work closely with management, bartenders, servers, DJs, and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor occupancy levels and maintain clear entrances, exits, and emergency routes.
- Promote a positive atmosphere where guests feel welcome, respected, and safe.
Qualifications
- Previous security, hospitality, nightclub, or customer service experience preferred.
- Valid BC Security Worker License preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent judgment and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night shifts.
- Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
