Full job description

This Intermediate Accountant position ensures accuracy in deal processing and provides essential support to the accounting team. This role is deal for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working as part of a team.

DUTIES

Review supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
Prepare and post routine journal entries.
Post vehicle sales, purchases, wholesale transactions, and dealer trades to the accounting system.
Perform month end and year end accounting activities, including account reconciliations and financial analysis.
Accurately enter and maintain financial data and supporting documentation in the accounting system.
Monitor outstanding receivables, vendor payments, and other financial transactions, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required.
Review, reconcile, and clear general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
Prepare and process electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and other payments in accordance with company policies.
Record daily receipts and deposits accurately.
Investigate payment discrepancies and work with internal departments, customers, or vendors to resolve outstanding issues.
Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and internal schedules to the general ledger on a regular basis.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure documentation is complete and organized.
Provide administrative and accounting support to other departments as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Minimum of 3 years of local bookkeeping / accounting experience
Dealership accounting experience an asset, but not required for motivated candidates
Previous experience with dealership software an asset
Strong interpersonal sills
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Organized & detail oriented
Keen time management & problem solving skills
Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
